Low Flow Showerheads and Faucet Aerators

Installing Low Flow faucet aerators and shower heads is the single most effective water conservation practice you can do for your home. Low Flow aerators and shower heads not only help reduce your energy bill but will pay for themselves in a few short months.

Do I need new faucet aerators and shower heads?

  • Shower Heads: Place a 2 quart container at the shower floor and aim shower head at the center of the pan. Next, turn water on at full blast and time how long it takes to fill the container. If it fills within 12 seconds, it's time for a new shower head.
  • Faucet Aerators: The water from the faucet should flow in a smooth and continuous manner. If this is not the case or your faucet aerator uses 2.75gpm or more, it is time for a new aerator.
